Quick and easy fall brunch idea. Sometimes pumpkin flavored foods this time of year can be a bit aggressive, but this french toast is great because it’s just the right amount of pumpkin. I served mine with some air fried hash browns!
INGREDIENTS
-4 eggs
-a few splashed of milk
-1 heaping tbs pumpkin puree
-1 tsp vanilla
-cinnamon
-nutmeg
-orange zest (or dried orange peel if you don’t have fresh, I didn’t)
-your favorite kind of bread*
-powdered sugar
DIRECTIONS
-Whisk together all the wet ingredients and spices
-Heat butter in a pan
-Dip bread in egg mixture (so for a bit if bread is thicker) and put in the pan with butter
-Cook until golden on both sides. Top with powdered sugar and warm maple syrup and enjoy!

*I suggest a thick bread like challah and would soak it a bit in the egg mixture. Here I used Dave’s Killer Bread (because thats what I had) and since it’s so thin I only dipped the bread quickly in the egg mixture so it wouldn’t get too soggy.
